Goleta

First established as a farming community, Goleta Valley grew during the track housing boom of the 1960s and 70s, creating a wonderful, safe bedroom community. North Goleta is home to one of the finest colleges in the country, the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB). Goleta is blessed with rustic beaches and pastoral mountain views and as a newly incorporated city (2000) it offers many opportunities for the businessperson. The numerous shopping malls and business parks bring a solid tax base to the area while coastal proximity of  Sandpiper Golf Course and Bacara Spa and Resort bring travelers from all over the world.

East Side

As one of the most historic sections of the city, the architecture of the Upper East Side maintains the grandeur reminiscent of the pre and post 1925 earthquake era. Today it is an eclectic mix of Victorian, Spanish Mediterranean, classic California Bungalows and newly remodeled traditional homes and estates. The Upper East is home to the historic Santa Barbara Mission and Rose Garden as well as Alice Keck and Alameda Parks and the energetic playground of Kids World. While maintaining the charm of a well-appointed neighborhood, the proximity to downtown businesses and entertainment makes for a leisurely, convenient lifestyle.

Riviera

From Alameda Padre Serra, the drive overlooking the city, you’ll see why Santa Barbara is referred to as the “American Riviera.” With commanding views of the harbor and Channel Islands over a blanket of red tile roofs gently sloping down to the coast, those fortunate to own here have front row seats to spectacular sunsets and the unobstructed city lights below. Riviera residents have a fond appreciation for being close to the amenities of the city, yet enjoy the quiet serenity found in its winding avenues. This hilltop paradise may boast some steep topography but once inside a Riviera home, the views will hold your attention like no other area of the city.

Carpinteria

“The World’s Safest Beach” has always been Carpinteria’s claim to fame. A long coastal shelf creates shallow waters for swimmers and vast sandy beaches for sunbathers. Home to avocado and citrus orchards and some of the largest flower growers in the United States, Carpinteria’s perfect climate also makes for exquisite living conditions with long, mild summers and short winters. The hills are dotted with large ranches while downtown has become a busy hub with excellent restaurants and boutiques–mostly family-run businesses–all within a short walk to the beach.
